Roger Laux Nelson

Was born and raised in rural Minnesota (USA). When young, he moved to New York City where he currently lives and works.

Mr. Nelson's large-scale landscapes and cityscapes invoke an initial sense of hyperrealism. However, upon closer examination, the brush technique is extremely loose - yet calculated. His choice of dark yet vibrant purples and oranges for rendering shadows may seem surreal but these choices only come to light upon reflection on Nelson's work.

Nelson has received numerous commissions and grants and has shown extensively in America.
